A contemporary reinterpretation of Vivienne Westwood’s Anglomania collection, created for the SPD Design Competition. Inspired by Westwood’s fusion of tradition and rebellion, this project reimagines her iconic themes through a personal, modern lens.
I have art directed and styled an original editorial photoshoot, using garments sourced from thrift shops or borrowed from friends. This resourceful approach nods to the DIY ethos of Westwood’s early work and encouraged sustainable styling without compromising visual impact.
To bring a tactile quality to the final design, I incorporated physical, analogue techniques throughout the editorial. I hand-drew a custom typeface using an eyeliner pencil, and spray-painted Westwood’s iconic Orb logo to introduce raw, graphic energy. These details added depth and materiality, echoing the rebellious spirit at the heart of the concept.
The project was awarded 3rd place in the
SPD Design Competition.
